Rosetta Stone Homeschool - Making Foreign Language Learning Easy

Rosetta Stone Homeschool | Making Foreign Language Learning Easy

My nine year old daughter is a romantic. And, I don’t mean romantic in “looking for love” romance; I mean that she loves all things romantic. Billowy clothing, historic periods, and all things French.

She’s wanted to learn to speak French ever since she read the book, Fancy Nancy and the Boy From Paris a few years ago. She’s in love with all things French. So, when I was thinking about the coming homeschool year, and was offered the opportunity to try Rosetta Stone for Homeschool, I opted to indulge her interests instead of going the more practical route of having the kids all learn a more mainstream foreign language. This one’s all for her – though the others are welcome to take the course, too.

And she was thrilled.

Rosetta Stone Homeschool - Making Foreign Language Learning EasyI received the program and compensation for my time in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and (as always) I only share things I love and know you – my readers – will love too.

My sweet little girl couldn’t wait to get started – and she is still asking to do this program every single day.

What is Rosetta Stone Homeschool Foreign Language?

Rosetta Stone Homeschool is a language-learning program that gives parents like me – who can only remember a few words of high school French – the tools they need to give their kids a rich foreign language experience from home.

It’s immersion-based foreign language learning, which means that kiddos need to start speaking the language right away. That right there builds confidence quickly. My little one has graduated already from spouting random “oo-la-la’s” to speaking words. She’s learning naturally using Rosetta Stone’s Dynamic Immersion® method of marrying native language speakers with real-life and culturally diverse images. This combination allows for immediate comprehension, without need for translation or memorization.

I love that there’s immediate feedback, and kids are engaged right away – and for the whole time.

Who can use Rosetta Stone Homeschool?

I’ll be honest – I thought that this foreign language program would be too tough for my daughter, despite her above-average ability. For me, foreign language was something you took in middle or high school, and somewhat daunting. Boy was I wrong!

My just-turned-nine year old loves it. She wants to do it, and has worked on it voluntarily throughout summer vacation. It’s fun, and she’s learning a ton.

Better yet, my oldest wants me to get Spanish and Japanese for him. He’s looking forward to taking Rosetta Stone Homeschool courses in addition to the Latin program he’s currently taking.

My younger two sit in on the nine year old’s lessons and will likely get their own profiles set up this school year, too.

So, really, anyone can use the program. It’s easy to install, easy to learn to use, and fun for all ages. And it teaches so well. I’m thinking about taking it as a refresher myself, so my daughter and I can chat with each other in French when we want to tell secrets. A romantic “family” language. I’m excited.
