Silly Celebrations – Frugal Family Fun in June

Are you ready for summer? I can’t wait to play outside in the yard, grow gardens with the kids, and enjoy some super fun water play. There are so many ways to enjoy frugal family fun in the summer like the silly celebrations you can pull together when you pay attention to crazy {but real} holidays like the ones below.

For example, did you know that June was National Turkey Lover’s Month, Dairy Month, Aquarium Month, and National Accordion Awareness Month? Neither did I, but now that I do, I feel compelled to share that information with my kids.

Seriously, how fun would it be to plan an aquarium set up while eating turkey sandwiches, drinking milk, and listening to accordion music? {Maybe we can throw a SQUILT music appreciation lesson in for good measure to go along with the accordion.}

Wouldn’t your kids love to find out about National Adopt a Cat Month {June} and go volunteer at a shelter? Or maybe you can take them to the store to buy candy during National Candy Month {yep…June also} so they can give it to people they see during your errands and bring a smile to some faces like mine did during our Advent Random Acts of Kindness challenges.
